ABSTRACT

Now that Carjo’s leaders have developed their strategic goals using Hoshin Kanri and understand their current situation using value stream mapping, you can begin the process improvements. At this stage, however, it is critical for you to consider the organization as a system of integrated processes. Some improvement efforts will only impact small portions of the business whereas other efforts can impact the entire business. The goal of this chapter is to get you thinking about the entire business as interconnected processes so that you can select improvement activities with the greatest impact on your organization.
