ABSTRACT

The fi rst Lean tool we will discuss is to help reduce variation and improve quality in our processes is Six Sigma. Six Sigma is covered fi rst so that you can focus on improving external quality for your customer. If you have a high defect rate for product reaching your customer, then your customer will be extremely dissatisfi ed. This will likely hurt your business more than slow production cycles or long changeovers, so it is important to focus fi rst on sending high-quality products out of your facility.
