ABSTRACT
Since 1924, a Border Patrol office has been responsible for making our territorial lines secure, but much has changed since the early days of border protection. In the 1980s, Americans became very familiar with the wave after wave of illegal immigrants coming across the porous lines of defense. Millions of Mexican and third world immigrants trekked across without much resistance.
