ABSTRACT
An explosion is a phenomenon resulting from the sudden release of energy with the potential to damage an enclosure and to produce shock or blast waves and missiles, both of which can cause remote damage. ›e ways in which energy can be released suddenly and, generally speaking, the type of damage caused as a result can be broadly divided into three categories as discussed in Sections 9.1.1 through 9.1.3.
