ABSTRACT

In line with this and consistent with the UN protocol that regards women and children as “victims,” it is incumbent on a country or society to have a public policy that embraces the rights, privileges, and due sensitivities of the plight of victims and to be committed to the restoration of their place in society. Interestingly, and at a more pragmatic level, such progressive victim support is more likely to encourage these women and children to provide information that will lead to prosecution of the transnational criminals who ply this trade.
