ABSTRACT

Despite the large amount of technological advances and valuable risk-assessment tools available, natural disasters continue to take lives and destroy homes. There is a mounting need for more effective approaches to mitigate the problems caused by natural disasters around the world. Housing plays a pivotal role in the livelihoods and security of the affected people. The recovery process following a natural disaster relies heavily on a well-planned approach directed toward both short-term and long-term housing, while increasing community resilience.
