ABSTRACT

In this chapter, using identical surveys in Ankara and Toledo Police Departments, we will examine the o˜cers’ perception of the performance appraisal system and explore whether there is a relationship between the o˜cers’ rank, level of education, gender, years of service, age, and their perceptions of the evaluation system. e principal focus is to examine how rank-and-ƒle o˜cers in Ankara and Toledo Police Departments perceive the performance appraisal process in their organizations. is chapter will also present the research design and describe the development of the survey instrument, the hypotheses to be tested, the methods used to analyze the data, and the ƒndings of the research.
