ABSTRACT
A-dec is a small, family-owned company based in Newburg, Oregon, that produces dental equipment and furniture for the global market. Early on, A-dec made the key strategic decision to develop a business that could be sustained in the face of pressure to outsource and reduce the quality of its products. Lean Manufacturing has played a key role in helping the company fulll that strategy while still delivering products that have high value in the marketplace. A-dec now sees that its product development system is key to fueling the company’s long-term growth.
