ABSTRACT
The Process at a Glance is a means of visually depicting the value-adding functions in the sequence used to produce the finished product. It ultimately becomes a living document that is continually refined and updated over the life of the project. The full Process at a Glance incorporates all of the elements used in the preliminary evaluation criteria used to narrow the seven alternatives down to the top three: Material, Method, Gauge, Tool, Fixture, and Machine. These key aspects of design act as a checklist for the design team, ensuring a holistic approach that increases probabilities of success.
