ABSTRACT
During the –rst few years of the twentieth century, the discovery of radioactivity had aprofound effect on the chemical sciences. The discipline of radiochemistry was developed to explore the changes in chemical properties that are consequences of transmutations occurring in radioactive decay and to exploit those changes to study the physical properties of the atomic nucleus. The principles of nuclear forensic science are those of radiochemistry.
