ABSTRACT

Two weeks earlier, Ken had met with Pete and Dave to start preparations for the 3P work they had all committed to. They were sitting in a spare conference room at the side of the plant that would serve as mission control for their project. The room was dirty and still buried under a lot of clutter, but an almost 40,000-square-foot section of plant floor space had been emptied of inventory in the past six months, a by-product of continuous kaizen efforts. Ken had insisted on meeting here rather than in the comfort of Pete’s office.
