ABSTRACT
In recent years, DNA typing has added a great deal of information to the analysis of biological evidence because there are a finite number of DNA types and a DNA classification scheme has been developed that permits conclusions about how rare or common a particular DNA type is. The role of DNA in hair analysis is discussed later in this chapter.
