ABSTRACT
A terrorist attack can be loosely de‚ned as an intentional incident involving hazardous materials that has the potential to cause extensive damage to property and produce large numbers of casualties (Figure 1.1). Such deliberate attacks can range from the detonation of a pipe bomb in a crowded area to the hijacking of commercial jetliners and smashing them into skyscrapers.
