ABSTRACT
AIDS may affect the nervous system in a variety of ways. Cerebral involvement may manifest with an early mononucleosis-like syndrome, and, later, with dementia or seizures; there may also be a myelopathy with paraparesis and a peripheral sensorimotor polyneuropathy. Fatigue and depression are also common, and, rarely, mania may be seen.
