ABSTRACT
This book aims to assist readers to develop a caring approach to a range of practical
skills that can be applied with adults in different healthcare settings. Practical
nursing skills comprise not only the ‘hands-on’ (psychomotor) element, but require
evidence-based knowledge, effective interpersonal skills, an ethical approach,
creative and reflective thinking, and an appropriate professional attitude. These
elements are considered throughout the text.
