ABSTRACT
Elimination of urine and faeces is an essential bodily function which we usually
become independent in within the first few years of life. Elimination is then usually
a private function, but when disability or physical or mental health problems are
present, independence in elimination is often affected. Patients and clients can
then need help from nurses to prevent problems and maintain their comfort.
