ABSTRACT

The marking schedule is not binary in nature. It is a 5-point scale that is also used in other medical Royal College examinations in the UK. OSCEs are objectively marked, i.e. there is weighting of particular objectives in each OSCE station that is predetermined and the examiner’s task is to award a mark for each objective as mentioned on the mark sheet. The examiners are not aware of the weighting for each task.
