ABSTRACT

We all know what it is to be in crisis. We are faced with a problem for which we do not have a solution and that is not responsive to any of our usual coping strategies. For example, you miss the last bus home and are stranded in an area where you feel at risk. You have no money for a taxi and no means of contacting friends or relatives (your usual coping strategies). The reader will be able to think of many similar examples of being in crisis.
