ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces terms and concepts that are associated with automated control systems, of which supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) is a part. Some of the terms introduced involve information technology (IT)-related security methodologies and what methods would be used to breach security controls and their mechanisms.
