ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the information system that links Toyota to its dealers and parts manufacturers will be examined. ™e rst topic is how dealers transmit sales data to Toyota and how Toyota processes this data. How Toyota informs its suppliers of the parts and materials needed to produce specic vehicles will be discussed next, followed by a description of Toyota’s new Toyota Network System (TNS), and lastly, a description of the information system within Nissan Motor Company, which is a rival car manufacturer of Toyota.
