ABSTRACT
In the JIT system, the concept of having things ²ow smoothly through the factory one by one, like water, without any holdups, is termed one-piece production or single-unit production. As explained in Chapter 7, one-piece production is a system in which the work is passed down the line one unit at a time within the takt time, following the product’s processing sequence, with production synchronized between each process and the next.
