ABSTRACT
Even during periods of slow growth, Toyota could make a prot by decreasing costs through a production system that completely eliminated excessive inventory and workforce. It would probably not be overstating the case to say that this is another revolutionary production management system. It follows the Taylor system (scientic management) and the Ford system (mass-assembly line).
