Beginning the Journey The content covered in Chapter 2, developing and deploying your Lean strategy, might seem a bit ambitious, or even overwhelming, depending on where you are in your improvement journey. For those of you who are just starting out to becoming a world-class healthcare enterprise, great lessons can be learned from the organizations that have gone before you. Keep in mind that the road to Lean transformation is now over sixty years old. Organizations large and small, public and private, union and nonunion have “left a trail” to follow.
