ABSTRACT
Forensic science has not only entered criminal justice, but it has also captured the imagination of citizens across the nation. Although advancements in forensic science over the last 50 years have been astounding, most criminal investigations rely on the efforts and commitments of investigators gathering physical evidence and interviewing witnesses. Fans of television shows like the CSI series may believe that law enforcement and science are inextricably linked, which is not necessarily the case as presented by Hollywood.
