ABSTRACT

The United States Constitution is often referred to as the supreme law of this country. It is, indeed, the source of all of our law; however, it contains very little law. Not counting the amendments, it has barely 4500 words. Constitution Day is September 17, and it commemorates the signing of the document. Jonathan Day (age 26) was the youngest individual to sign the Constitution, and Benjamin Franklin (age 81) was the oldest person to sign the Constitution.1.Although the assembling of Colonial leaders was primarily to revise the Articles of Confederation, the resulting outcome of the gathering was the drafting of the U.S. Constitution.
