ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we explore some of the reasons why individuals commit acts of violence in the name of honor. Here we will examine social and psychological factors considered to be important in the motivation of honor-based violence (HBV), how honor-related attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors develop, and how these can foster HBV perpetration.
