ABSTRACT

Forensic managers face dicult leadership challenges given laboratory resource limitations and constraints. roughout the text, we address strategies to help forensic managers with dicult leadership challenges. In this chapter, we introduce a performance model with seven recommendations for increasing laboratory eciency and eectiveness and show how leaders can implement these recommendations. e leadership team must articulate the vision and priorities for laboratory operations. Laboratory priorities have signicant short-term and long-term consequences. Leadership is needed at all levels in the forensic science laboratory to provide quality and timely forensic service for the criminal justice community.
