Rape and sexual assault cover a wide range of criminal offenses. Rape is generally defined as sexual penetration or contact that is forced or coerced. This may include vaginal, anal, or oral penetration. These are not limited to male-on-female assaults and may be perpetrated by either sex upon either sex. Common contact includes:
