Weapons Safety Is of Paramount Concern • If the weapon is within an area secured by law enforcement, it should
be properly documented and thoroughly photographed in place prior to any manipulation.
• If the crime scene is still dynamic (marginal law enforcement control), the weapon should be expediently documented and made safe, if positive law enforcement control of the area cannot be immediately established.
