ABSTRACT

While an organizational commitment to quality begins at the highest governance level, organizational leadership at all levels is integral to executing and implementing this commitment. This is reflected in the third of the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Seven Leadership Leverage Points, which calls for leadership attention to be focused on system-level quality improvement by channeling attention to personal leadership, leadership systems, and transparency.1 BHCS has implemented numerous initiatives to develop personal leader ship, leadership systems, and transparency throughout its facilities with the goal of improving health care quality for its patients.
