ABSTRACT
Phase I — Situation You are a member of the board of directors at the Susan G. Komen Foundation (Komen, 2013). Komen is involved in breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment. Its mission is to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease through early detection and effective treatment. Komen funds studies that have had a huge impact on advances in the fight against breast cancer. There has been a 33 percent reduction in deaths due to breast cancer in the United States, an increase in the survival rate for women who have been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, plus an increase in dollars allocated to research (Komen, 2013).
