ABSTRACT
Phase I — Situation You are an upper-level administrator for the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross has an organizational mission to assist in emergency situations and support victims in natural disasters as well as providing community support and educational services (American Red Cross, 2012). The organization has been in existence since 1881, has responded to thousands of disasters, and has half a million volunteers in addition to 35,000 employees (American Red Cross, 2012). The American Red Cross educates more than 9 million people yearly in CPR and swimming/water safety programs, as well as other programs (American Red Cross, 2012). Overhead costs are roughly 9 percent out of every donated dollar, and the American Red Cross collects blood supplies from approximately 4 million donors (American Red Cross, 2012).
