Phase I — Situation You are the newly elected president of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) in July 2011. LULAC is the oldest and largest Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States. The organization is embroiled in a controversy over the election of its new president, Margaret Moran. Jamie Martinez, a former national treasurer for LULAC, was defeated by Moran in his bid for the LULAC presidency. Martinez filed a suit to overturn the results of the election that was conducted at the national conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in July 2011.
