Autopsy (necropsy, postmortem examination), according to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, is “… an examination of a body aer death to determine the cause of death (CoD) or the character and extent of changes produced by disease …” e word has origin in Greek αυτοpiσια, New Latin autopsia-act of seeing with one’s own eyes [from auto-(self) + opsis (sight), appearance].
