ABSTRACT
Washington Technology, an online think tank on government contracting, reported that the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality began spending its $473 million in grants and contracts for projects to use IT systems to compare the effectiveness of medical treatments. Generating data about treatment outcomes and options is the main function of the agency’s move to fulfill funding from President Obama’s economic stimulus law. Categories for the grant awards include data infrastructure, dissemination, translation, and implementation.
