Sibling rivalry The book mentioned above consists largely of a description of the therapies of a series of patients treated with brief psychotherapy by trainees. Of these patients, nearly a quarter suffered from disturbances caused by guilt-laden jealousy and hostility directed towards a younger sibling - thus illustrating the importance of problems of this kind, which sometimes tends to be obscured by the importance of the relation with parents.
