ABSTRACT

Dr. Marie-Helen Maras is an associate professor of security and criminal justice at the Department of Security, Fire, and Emergency Management at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York. She has also served as an adjunct professor at New York University, teaching graduate courses, including Transnational Terrorism, Transnational Security, and Cybercrime. Additionally, she has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses on computer forensics, crime scene investigation, transnational organized crime, terrorism and counterterrorism, and crisis management and disaster preparedness (to name a few) at State University of New YorkFarmingdale and the King Graduate School of Monroe College. Moreover, she is an international editor for the Journal of Applied Security Research and the President of Protect New York, a professional organization that brings together academics and professionals concerned with responding to the threat of terrorism, as well as the creator and co-editor of the Protect New York Newsletter.
