□ The name and title of the investigator who drew the sketch □ The date and time when the sketch was made

□ The classification of the crime (homicide, assault, etc.) □ The identification of the victim □ The agency’s case number □ The names of any persons assisting in taking measure ments □ The precise address of the location sketched □ Reference points used during the sketching, including compass direction north, with appropriate indications

□ The legend: The purpose of the legend is to identify every article or object by either number or letter, and explain the significance of these characters on the crime scene sketch. The legend also includes the scale used and a reference to any notes taken and measurements recorded in connec tion with the investigation.
