ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we will examine Medicare policies that determine the rates paid to healthcare providers. We will also examine three policy issues:
◾ Medicare rate structures create inefficient silos; hence, Medicare is exploring the potential for bundled payments to mitigate this problem.
