ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION In this chapter, students of nursing will explore the nature of learning disabilities and their relationship to learning disability nursing. This will be contextualised within the Nursing and Midwifery Council for the United Kingdom (2010) and An Board Altranis (2005) standards for competence.
