ABSTRACT

In this quote, Deming was talking in part about the need for leadership to forecast the market, to look at new ways of doing things, and to identify and meet the unspoken needs of the customer. Innovation adds value to the supplier-customer relationship whether through new technology, new materials , or new methods. Innovation starts with market awareness, with knowing what’s possible. It is in this way that organizations can begin moving to meet the implicit needs of their customers.
