ABSTRACT

A process is defined as “a series of actions or operations conducing to an end” (MerriamWebster, 2012d). This notion is not incommensurate with the attributes of the basic communications process delineated within the preceding chapter. Each stage of the communications process occurs through time. Each stage of the communications process, whether it involves sending, transmitting, or receiving, represents some type of action or operation that is necessary for achieving mutual comprehension and understanding of a message between the sender and the receiver of the message.
