ABSTRACT
With the construction of the network container complete, the next task is to fill the container with product contents. The network container has the capability of combining any set of raw materials and component parts from SOURCE through multiple product structures within MAKE to DELIVER the range of products demanded by specific market segments. This chapter begins the construction of the PLAN to fill the network with the right inventory in the right quantity at the right place and the right time. The next chapter completes construction of the PLAN. Keep in mind that the network’s supply capabilities are different from the customer’s actual demand. Demand planning is meant to align demand and supply.
