ABSTRACT

Supply chain construction starts and ends with your customer. It is a process that iterates through the Supply Chain Construction Blueprint. Chapter 2: “The Blueprint” presents a detailed example of how to apply The Blueprint to a forward supply chain, and Chapter 8: “Return” presents a detailed example of how to apply The Blueprint to a reverse supply chain. The optimal design and operation of a supply chain are not merely the sum of local optimizations. It is much more complex systems approach because of its integrated nature. Performance measures, key performance indicators (KPIs), and metrics are all names for gauging how the system is working relative to its Supply Chain Construction Requirements Specification. This chapter presents diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques that can be applied as a new or modified supply chain is first turned on should its performance not measure up. This chapter closes the loop between the architecture and the construction of a supply chain network. It closes the loop back to your customer.
