ABSTRACT

It is becoming increasingly obvious that in developed countries, at least, the attitude toward work in general and toward work ethic specifically is changing. “People no longer understand the value of a dollar,” we hear from owners and executives, “of what goes into earning one.” And we hear, “It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find somebody willing to give you an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay, ” and, “Everybody is trying to get by doing as little as possible; people have lost the work ethic.”
