ABSTRACT

There are many kinds of team and group meetings that take place today: strategic improvement teams, headlight teams, process improvement teams, measurement teams, functional teams, cross-functional teams, tiger teams, DMAIC teams, Kaizen events, Town Hall meetings, selfdirected work teams, natural functional teams, to name a few. What do they have in common? They all should have an agenda and a facilitator to keep the team, group, or event on track toward delivering or achieving its desired or required purpose and deliverables. If not, you will find attendees feeling unproductive and bored, and management will be disappointed as well because deliverables will be only partially delivered or not delivered at all. Most of these teams will go through four stages in their development.
