traits, throughout time. Deciduous teeth: The first set of teeth, commonly called the “baby teeth.” Diaphysis: A term that is used to identify the mid-section of a bone, or the shaft of

the bone. Epiphyseal line: Line toward the ends of the long bones marks the location of

the childhood epiphyseal plate and is found between the diaphysis and the epiphysis in adult bones.
