ABSTRACT
Advanced training is the combination of the improvement of previously acquired skills and the adding of skills that further enhance statistical performance in deployment. To begin advanced training, the dog should have demonstrated a consistent and reliable ability to locate the odored toy (see Chapter 13). As confidence and capability increase, so should difficulty, and this chapter will illuminate several of the key parameters necessary for a dog to become deployment ready.
