ABSTRACT
Introduction For the most part, when we discuss deviant behavior, we focus on the harm caused to others. We tend to overlook the fact that deviant behavior can be very destructive to the actor. In this chapter we will explore some of the actions of individuals who commit self-destructive deviance. Self-destructive behavior includes destructive acts that harm the individual performing the harmful acts.
