ABSTRACT
Oxford Dictionaries define philosophy as (1.3) a theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts as a guiding principle for behavior.† The guiding principles S&W prescribes for work processes are those promoted and used by Toyota called TPS. One guiding principle is to maximize value to the customer while minimizing waste. This means creating more value for good customers using fewer resources by eliminating waste. Thus, a perfect process would have zero waste.
